My whole stock exhaust is 27ish inches, and the universal muffler for my car is only 20?
Will the muffler shop be able to add piping or how does this work?
your stock exhaust has to be longer than 27 inches because the exhaust starts from the headers in the engine bay. Then connects to a mid-pipe, then the muffler. they will have to either extend the mid pipe out by a few inches, or add length to the universal muffler pipe. Both need to be done by mig or tig welding. An exhaust shop should have no problem hooking it up. As long as they use the same diameter tubing and they are good at welding, it should be a snap!
