LED turn signal wont stay lit?
Ive recently done the LED turn signal conversion on my 01 civic but seem to be running into a problem. The bulb type is a 7443 bulb. Here is my question....After installing it on its own it wouldnt work. I then found out I needed load resistors. After I instaled the laod resistor, the bulb flashed fine at a normal rate BUT, the bulb wont stay iluminated like the stock bulb does. THe resistors I have are 25W 5ohm. I beleive the wattage is correct but does the ohm rating have anything to do with the bulb not staying lit???
The problem is not the "blinking" at all its not staying "lit" when the direction is off. The regular halogen stays lit then when you turn the directional, it blinks. The LED only blinks when i turn it....but when i move the direction back to the center position it goes off completly?
The normal flasher installed at the factory depends on the bulb to make it flash. If it doesn't have a proper load it won't flash. If you connect a trailer to your car this type of flasher will flash very fast. You can buy a heavy duty flasher that is a direct replacement for the original one. It will flash at the proper rate regardless of the load. This type of flasher should work with your LED lamps. Check with a decent auto supply or trailer supply for a flasher that will work for you.
