I need tips for building plastic models?
I just bought a model helicopter, and I need to know if it is better to paint the plastic pieces before or after I assemble the model. Also, should I apply a base coat to the model? Any other advice on building plastic models is appreciated.
It is best to wash your model with mild detergent and warm water before you start work on it.This gets rid of any contaminants from the production process.Then you should paint everything first.When you go to glue pieces together,instead of an Exacto knife just use fine grit sand paper to sand the paint of the areas you want to glue.After the glue has dried inspect your work and do touch up painting as needed.As far as gluing windows,Testors makes a white glue made especially for gluing clear parts.It won't cloud your clear parts and dries clear.
