How much would you sell a 1995 Mazda Protege that has 170,000 miles and needs the air conditioner compressor..
replaced? The car is in pretty good condition except for the air conditioner compressor needing to be replaced. The value for fair condition is $1,710 but that just seems a little high. I am considering that price minus the price of a new compressor which would be around $900. I just need some opinions and advise..
I think some one is pulling your leg on the airconditioer pump ,
you can get one from a junk yard that will guarantee it for about
$45.00 and you can charge the air conditioner yourself. it is easy,, See in 1994 they started using the R134A freon and you can go to Auto Zone or even Wal-Marts and ask them for the R134a freon and the hose too put it in with.
I would recommend a auto parts store they will know what you
need.. Oh ask them for the " O" rings to, you will need them if you replace the AC pump.
AS for your car price I would ask $2500.00 if they fixed the AC there selves and if you fix it I think $2800.00 to 3000.00
that way you have a little room to negotiate with.
So,, that is what I would do and I have done my air conditioners and many others to.
look under the hood on all the stickers and one should say
equipped with R134a or something like that..
