Ur fan also comes with 3 wires. 1- fan, 1- light- 1- neutral wire and 1- green -ground. (4 wires). Now...U have to change the light switch. U need to buy the switch with 2- toggles. ($10.) Not cheap ! or if ur light switch have room for 2- separate switch...($2.) But the 1 with the 2- switch looks more professional. 1- hook the white wire to the white wire to the ceiling box. 2. Hook the black to the black wire.(fan wire and switch wire) 3. Hook red to red. OK...The white wire that come out of the switch needs to connect to the black wire of the junction box (top) Use a black marker and mark the white wire so to let the next electrician know that is the service connection. 1/2" area is ok. on the wire. U hook up the green to green. Ur done with the connection on top. Go to the switch....If ur looking at the switch...(the screws or hole) The service wire (white) will be hot...That's gotta be marked Black also. It's connected to the power port of the switch. Black wire is connected to 1 of the switch port and 1-red is connected to the other. the greens is of course is the ground. There...ur finish. Just hook up the fan and close up the light switch.
