is is safe to do all this of 2 plugs..?
i was wondering what i should do, i have so many things running of 2 differnet wall plugs and i believe it is overloaded
2 computers (2x screen n tower)
surround sound speakers
lamp
modem and router
printer
mini fridge
2 tv's 2 cctv plugs,
a xbxo 360 a ps2,
virgin media box
dvd playa / seperates hifi,
a electric heater
2 phone chargers
i have in access of like 20 plugs all togeather, 4 way extensions coming out of 4 wall extensions etc, its chaotic..
i am also planning on buying an item which will add another 3 plugs to this lot.
what should i do, i havn't got the money to get an electrician to fit a new wall plug.
On the average wall socket (set of 2 plugs) there is 15 amps. most things in you list are 2 or less amps. But the fridge and heater will most likely use alot more, could use 6 plus or maybe even 10 plus amps (depends on make, model and age). The safest rule of thumb is one power bar per wall socket (set of two) with any major devices plugged straight into the wall. This will reduce your chances of creating a fire hazard.
My suggestion is to try to move other devices to other plugs. For example move the fridge to one plug and then the heater to another.
Other things you can do to see if your pushing the limit is:
1. check to see if the extension cords or power bar cords are getting warm.
2. if your circuit breaker or fuses in your house keep popping then you are defiantly over doing it.
