What size 12 volt gauge is recommended for a 1600 watt amplifier?
I do not have anything installed in my car yet but I have a 1600 watt amplifier and a red wire power wire(12 volt) that says 8 guage. Does that really matter? The thicker it is the more power your subwoofers receive?
honestly it does for the quality of sound you have . for a 1600 wat amp i would go with at least 4 guage power but also remember with your ground wire to go with the same guage. but it all depends on what your using it for . amp and subs or aftermarket speakers and amp
