97 GMC pickup: can't afford to keep it running, can't afford to replace it...?
We have a 97 GMC pickup which has needed a lot of repairs in the last 18 months: replaced the transmission, water pump, alternator, fuel pump and sending unit, plus just to add insult to injury, we had to have a cracked windshield fixed. The truck has only 87,000 miles and is not subjected to rough use. Is this a jinxed truck, or is this list of repairs needed typical for this make and model? Am getting to where we don't even want to drive it anywhere...
Your in luck. just take it to you nearest GM dealer and say the check engine light came on and now its off and ask for the free GM inspection. You will get a report card of things you can expect to cause you problems. I do them all day long.
