Engine check light with 98 Mazda Protege?
I went to Auto Zone and got code: P0421.Caralyst efficiency low bank 1.
The oxygen sensors monitor the catalytic convertoers ability to store oxygen. Probable cause 1.Catalytic converter defective (Failure possibly due to #2, 3, or 4) 2. Engine misfire or runnning condition. 3. Large Vacuum leak. 4. Engine oil leakage into exchaust- valve guide seals, piston rings.
My car is very hard to accessarate when a/c is on. I can hear some vibration sound while ideling at cold temp. This car got 149K millege. Would it be safe to drive? Do you have any suggestion to fix this problem?

I would suggest at the very least having a mechanic look at it, chances are you may havve a busted head gasket which would allow the oil into the cylinder which would give you slow acceleration. Your spark plugs or wires may need replacing. I would bet on the engine misfire or unning condition on being the cause, sounds like your engine could use a good tune up.
