Know how to make an aluminum dash?
I'm been searching around for aluminum dashboards, like ones you see inside NASCAR stock cars and other race cars, but cant seem to find ANYTHING about it. HAs anybody ever made one? What did you use? How did you do it? Know companies that sell them? My car is a 69 mustang coupe and want my dash to be aluminum

Get your cutter, your welder, etc out. remove the old dash because the outside dimensions are going to be what you need. also make templates maybe cardboard, photoboard, and finally door skin or plywood so that when you cut the aluminum it will be the right shape for the front, top sides, etc. make it however you want, but try to get whatever gauges you want first so the holes you cut will be the right size. you can also make a flip down & slide back cover that will hide everything when you are at something like a cruise in. Alluminum welding, forming is not difficult & there is lots of materials and web site information if you don't know how to do it.
