i bought a pair of light bulbs for my car, i bought xenon 55watt light bulbs and they show a white color. when i have my low beams on, i don't know if they shoot far enough, i can't remember how my old globes were. does it matter how you put them in because you can put them two different ways, i mean you can put them up side down or the right side up if you know what i mean, im not sure if there is a right side so i just put them in. my high beams are bright and happy with that so im thinking i put them in correctly but still not sure. and also i want to know what it means when people say i have 5000k or 6000k or 8000k light bulbs, what does that mean?
They sound like they are in right, the white light will be really hard to see with in the rain at night unless its a HID which it doesn't sound like you have. i know with globes, ( i just changed the globes on one of my cars) you can get a 'white' light look but the distance is the same as the standard globes, they are dearer and don't benefit much to the driver. The other alternative is you can go for 'plus 20' or 'plus 50' globes, these ones put out 20% more light or 50% more light over a standard globe while using the same power and not producing any more heat (polycarbonate lenses don't handle heat well.) The +20 and 50s are a slighter whiter light over normal globe, they make a hell of a difference, helps a lot been able to see at night kangaroos don’t bounce well at all!! The 5000k is the measurement of light and the colour of it. the table below explains it well.
