I inherited car(08 Mercedes E-something),when filling gas it said"diesel"today car is going smoke crazy,why?
At the pump I chose diesel because I heard it is more economical instead of gasoline, but for some reason the nozzle was too wide so thankfully I had a funnel so I pumped through there. Driving off I noticed knocking noise, engine was vibrating, and after 10min on the road it started to smoke badly! Before I take it to mechanic can I drive it? Maybe the brakes are smoking?
Should I look into "cash for clunkers" program that will cover my mishap? In Wallmart I saw "octane booster" and "fuel injector cleaner. Which one of these products can eliminate the smoke? I read simewhere that I can stuff a wet rag into the tailpipe which will absorb the smoke, right now I cannot afford mechanic
