Is there anyway to attach Light Gates to a computer without special software?
And if there arent, what software do i need?
I know that you can attach light gates to the back of a computer, but i need to know how to handle the input.
I want to use it to time a race and then put the time in VB.
I have some light gates which attach to a databox (The ones used in schools). This can be attached via USB or Parallel Port. The software it comes with is not adaptable. The light gates themselves are connectable through the same port on the back of the computer as your mouse or keyboard.
It depends what interfaces you have. The old parallel printer port is ideal. It can be configured as a parallel input output port and would allow you to attach up to eight devices. Unfortunately if you only have USB you are probably going to need some extra hardware.
