Can anyone tell me about installing HID on Honda FIT?
Okay, so I'm planning to install a HID on my Fit. Currently I'm using the stock halogen... I heard I need to install ballast too in addition to the HID bulb. I asked a seller and he said I can use a H4 type HID...
My question is, what are the difference between H types (H1,H2,H3,H4, etc)? I looked wikipedia and it only said nothing about the difference/advantage

The difference between H1, H2, H3, H4, etc is just the socket type and the socket shape. H1, H2, H3 are mostly found in fog lights. H4 is a dual filament headlight bulb. Meaning it has high beam and low beam in 1 bulb. Other cars use 2 separate bulbs to achieve high beam and low beam. Those bulbs are usually 9006 for low beam and 9005 for high beam. Like I said its only the socket type and socket shape. When installing HID bulbs you do in fact need to install the ballast which is the device that steps up the voltage to make the bulb illuminate much brighter. Depending on the type or amount of gas that is in the bulb, that will determine the heat range that the gas burns at which will in turn determine the color of the bulb. i.e 6,000k, 10,000k, 12,000k. The "K" is for the temperature scale of Kelvin which is what the heat of the bulb is measured in as opposed to Farenheit or Celsius. If you live in a state that has strict laws on modifying cars and you don't want to stick out like a sore thumb with those headlights, then you should purchase HID bulbs that have a heat range of either 8,000k which is all white or 10,000k which has a very slight diamond blue tint to it.
