Can I use a 98 Crown Vic fan motor in a 2004 P71 police Interceptor?
Is it possible to use a 98 radiator fan in a 2004 P71? The biggest problem is this sensor in the 2004. 3 wires go into the sensor, 2 go out into the fan motor.
The fan I pulled from the 98 had no sensor, just 3 wires going out of the fan motor. What is this sensor for and is it safe to bypass it? What if I only connect the high speed wire from the 98 into the sensor on the 2004? Will it still function?

Do you see that silver box on the 2004? Between the connector and the fan? What is that? I've been told it was a fan speed regulator or something
Also, the screw holes don't matter at all. There are ways to mount the fan. It's the wiring and the A/C shut-off that I'm worried about.
They don't even look like they are the same size, so the screw holes won't line up. Are you talking about the connector, and calling it a sensor.
The radiator fan doesn't have sensors.
I don't believe you will have success with this fan.
