Will a bad ballast ruin new fluorescent bulbs?
Say I have a fluorescent fixture that's gone dark. I put in new bulbs, but the fixture does not light, meaning the ballast is bad. I don't have time to change it for a few days, and the circuit must be on to power other lights. Will I damage my new bulbs by leaving them in a powered fixture with a bad ballast? i.e., so bad the bulbs do not flicker or attempt to light at all.
