sportrak hunting/idling probs?
hi i have a 1994 sportrak that is running a bit rough on occasion i have recently replaced the throttle body and temp sensor but now and then the car will start hunting its only got 30000k on the clock and i have never had a problem before now i love this car so any help would be much appreciated thanks all rich1983
Yeah...I think I know what you mean...it's not idling properly.
The quick fix is to add a bottle of fuel injector/line cleaner (gumout concentrate is what I use, but chevron techron is what I'd like to use) and change the plugs. It would be nice to use a half a tank of tier 1 premium with the cleaner (chevron, shell, mobil) but to each their own. It's a simple job and if it fixes the problem then it's saved you a bunch of money. If it doesn't work then it's likely a problem with your distributor, coils (and/or wires), or harnesses (or all of them). I don't think it's a fuel problem however.
