Do family photographs like 4x6 & Polaroids keep better in a photo album or in like a shoe box with a lid? ....?
--The reason I ask is. At one point There were no photo albums. People just kept pictures in a shoe box. And they are sealed of from dust. Where in a photo album they are in a plastic sleeve but dust and what not can still reach the edges of the album. I have a lot of OLD FAMILY PHOTOS 60-70 YEARS OLD.
-- And i wonder if should bother sticking them in a photo album or just leave them in the shoe box. However i suppose touching them each time and skin oils would wear them out.

When comparing a shoe box to a PHOTO SAFE album, there is no comparison. The photos are FAR better off in the album. In a shoe box, you can have moisture damage (photos sticking together), light damage (yellowing of photos), and much more.
If you do prefer to leave them in a box, there are photo safe boxes available that will protect and organize your memories.
