1998 Mitsu Eclipse Manual engine turns but won't start until gas pedal engage?
Hey I just dropped in a different engine for my 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse 5-speed manual and when I go to turn it on, it will turn over but won't start UNTIL I engage the gas pedal.
I've been researching online but no one really has a concrete solution. Can anyone provide me with some feedback.
It has a bad throttle position sensor or the computer in the car needs to be cleared so that it recognizes that there is a change. Disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and reconnect it and see if it starts without touching the throttle. If it still has the same symptoms then you will want to check the computer if the check engine light is on to be sure but I feel confident that you will need to replace it. Hope I have been helpful.
