My car brake tail lights are not working. What could possibly be wrong?
Apparently, I just realised recently my back two tail lights are not working. However, only the middle on works. I've check the fuse and there's no problem with it. I checked the two globes and it looks like it's not blown because the filaments are still attached and I don't know what else to lookf for. Because i'm not a professional at cars, I need a simple explanation what other possibilities could cause this to happen. Please help! I dont' want to get pulled over!
The LOOK of a filament can be misleading. I once bought a light bulb to replace broken brake light. When I remove the brake light I was surprised to find that the filament looked OK.
But given I was 90% there anyway, I just replace it any way (just to see). And sure enough it worked (with new bulb). I went home and checked the bulb with a DMM (digital multimeter) and sure enough the bulb was bad.

Go ahead and replace the bulb. If the bulb is not the problem you can always save the bulb for later use. It isn't a total lost in investment.
