What is the difference in a 97 and a 94 integra motors?
I bought a 94 Acura Integra and compared the numbers and the tenth digit tells you what year its from. The number on the car is a 94 but the tranny and motor are from a 97 so I was wondering what, if any differences there are between the two. Thanks.
well assuming there both the same trim level, and a integra ls (which is more common).
then they would be the B18B1 engine,
the engine is 95% the same the only reason i say 95 instead of 100%
is that the 1994-1995 Are OBD 1 engines,
where as the 96-98 are OBD 2A,
and the 99-01 are OBD 2.
well how do you tell what the difference is between a B18B1 that is OBD 1 or OBD 2?
you can tell its a B18B1 motor, but you see the number below which starts with a 3xxxxxxxx
this means its a motor built in the 3rd year after the engine was introduced.
B18B1 was introduced in 1994, so
motor/block numbers starting with (for the b18b1 or b18c1 gs-r)
1xxxxxxxx = 94
2xxxxxxxxx= 95
3xxxxxxxxx= 96
4xxxxxxxxxx=97
5xxxxxxxxxx=98
6xxxxxxxxxx=99
7xxxxxxxxxx= 00
8xxxxxxxxxx= 01
