Are aftermarket HIDs worth it?
Course everyone wants nice blue tinted light, but my VW came with halogen reflector lenses, and I'm curious bout some of the Ebay HID kits, both those that fit directly into your factory lens, and also those that come with a new projector lens. I've just heard lot of negative things about adding HID to a halogen intended setup. Mostly the light aiming issue...
Has anyone done this that would have any suggestions? Or should I just go with some xenon filled 4300 or 5000K regular bulbs? Granted, it'd be a LOT cheaper, but some of the HID kits with lenses are only like a few hundred bucks.
I would do more research on the exact projector housing you are going to use. I have heard some of those housings have very wonky beam pattern.
