i am looking to add a little more oomph to my 1993 Mazda Miata and was looking into rx7 motors and have asked around but cant find a price or anyone to tell me if it would fit or if its even worth trying

This is not a direct bolt in! While not the most difficult swap it has been done. Even a 20r engine will fit. But it takes more then just the engine.
It takes the complete drive train. You will loose the PDF which is something that helps the Miata out in the stiffness of the chassis.
I think that when you get all the prices together and think about the chances of successfully completing the task that a supercharger would have been cheaper.
Engine, transmission, differentual, ECM, MAF, MAP about 2000 dollars.
Custom mounts, custom exhaust system, other needed parts about 800 dollars.
Time two to three weeks or 2000 dollars.
Supercharger 2395.95 (one weekends work).
Turbo charger 2995.99 (one weekends work)
