Are LED lights compatible with a high pressure sodium fixture?
I have a high pressure sodium fixture and light in my parking area using 100W. I tried to screw in a CFL 13W bulb and it zapped out. Will this same thing happen with an LED bulb or is LED compatible with the sodium fixture?
Do not try. They are not compatible. The high pressure sodium fixture has a starter that produces extremely high voltage/low amps until the gas in the bulb is lit (or comes on). This high voltage at the socket will damage voltmeters too.
