Is there a way to pull a stronger wifi signal to my mac, kind of like a magnet?
I live an an apartment complex with complimentary internet. There are 5 levels and only 5 routers for about 36 people (my guess) which make my signal (on the top story) very week.
When i have airport turned on, usually 3 of the 5 routers show up but the signal is super weak (only 1 or 2 bars, 3 if Im lucky). Also, it seems like I get kicked off the router (or something) a lot. I don't know what to do, we aren't allowed to use our own routers. My browsing is so slow, I can't even check me email sometimes and forget about watching videos.
Google wireless amplifiers or repeaters, and buy yourself one. Then, find somewhere between your place and wherever the router is where you can get wifi signal, and place your repeater/amplifier there and follow the instructions in the booklet or just use your imagination. If configured correctly, your signal should be stronger. Hope I helped.
