Pontiac G6 GT V Nissan Altima for a college student?
I am about to enter college, and I need a car. I like the Nissan Altima and Pontiac g6, and I can afford them. 06-07 year for both.
Which should I get!!
The Pontiac is a better engine, leather seats, all around nicer IMO. 53k miles
Nissan is more base cloth standard power 49k miles under warranty
I like the Pontiac g6 GT but my parents and I both agree that a Nissan will probably last longer and that is our end goal. What do you think!?
(I am also looking at Mazda6 04-08, chime in if they are nice and reliable!)

All things equal, the Altima is the better vehicle.
The G6 does not have a better engine, in my opinion. It might be faster if you are comparing the 6 cylinder G6 to the 4 cylinder Altima, but the Altima has a great engine.
Listen to your parents and make sure you get it inspected by an independent mechanic before you buy it no matter what the dealer says.
The Mazda 6 is also a good choice....better than the G6 and comparable to the Altima.
