Is a 5 3/4" motorcycle headlight, ACTUALLY 5 3/4"?
I have a 1973 Kawasaki F7 and a brand new headlight (6v 35/35w) for it is $100 or more.
I've one some research and found that there are two common sizes of headlights 5 3/4" and 7".
My motorcycle's headlight diameter is a little less than 5 3/4" but I've found a cheap, universal headlight that is advertised as that size.
I just wanna know if headlights advertised as 5 3/4" are ACTUALLY that size or maybe a little less like mine.
What do you mean by "slightly"?
I wanted to see what one looked like, not knowing if it was a bulb or an assembly.

What I wound up doing a long time ago when I didn't have the cash or want the expensive bits:
I removed the adjustment guts, reflector and bulb. With a hot-melt glue gun, I fastened a standard auto headlight bulb to the front ring.
Adjustment for angle and side-to-side was done at the bucket bracket.
I found I preferred the beam pattern as well as being cheap.
While this particular one was a 7" bulb, it can also be done with the smaller version.
7" and 5 3/4" aren't really exact measurements - more of a name. Anything advertised as either size should fit the same size housing. (there aint no use selling a bulb that don't fit)
