Pontiac Grand Am problems with lights and remote?
My left foglight is out, right reverse light is out in the back, and inside dome light is out. All other lights are working fine. Checked the fuses but they are fine. Was going to change dome light bulb but when i hit it the light came on but then went out so idk what up with that. On top of all of the my remote isnt working, change the battery for both keys and still doesnt work, but get this, sometimes when i lock the door from the diverside the horn will sound as if i locked the car with my remote. Can someone help me please. 2001 Pontiac Grand Am. Thanks.
The fog lights may have their own fuse for each side and sometimes the same feed for the headlights feeds the fog lights.I believe either you've a blown fuse, bad connection at the bulb socket or in the wiring or the bulb is blown.The back up light is either a bad connection or the bulb is gone in both cases you could try switching the bulbs around and work from there but I'd change both fog light bulbs and both back up bulbs regardless, just keep the extra one for a spare.
The interior light sounds like a bad connection and I'd start with popping out the interior light bulb and then remove the base to get at the wiring going to the bulb plug in connector, it maybe just loose or the wiring may have a problem.Note each circuit such as the interior light or the back up lights or the fog lights all require a solid ground so check the grounds.Remember if the alarm or starting/remote system is old it maybe faulty or the system might have a bad ground, plus try moving the receiver wire it may have moved and simply requires a better signal.
