You need to decide a few things first.
1. What type of racing are you doing?
2. How much street use does your car get?
Once you answer that you can pick your belts. The 2" 4 point harnesses sold by cheaper companies are garbage. Most of them are not FIA, or SFI approved (important for racing safety). The next problem occurs with street legality almost all of the aftermarket seat belts are illegal for street use. The only one i am familiar with that is DOT approved (a must have for being legal on the street), is the Schroth Autocontrol harness ($300). Factor in the safe mounting practices like welding tabs for the shoulder harness and bolting in lap belts and the time it takes to get in and out of the car with these harness. You have to replace the lap belts and shoulder harness with the racing ones to be race legal. Hope all this helps.
I run Wesco harnesses in my car that clip in and out and are great for racing, both SFI and FIA approved. They also carry FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) #209 rated so when you get pulled over and the cops hassle you for a DOT sticker just show them the FMVSS tag and they usually get confused and just let you go.
