The water outlet hose on my central gas furnace/AC keeps freezing when it gets cold. It use to not do that. I am not sure what is wrong? The lines are not clogged or anything. When it is warm outside, the water from the hose went out fast. But when it gets cold the hole starts to ice over and then finally get frozen and the water would come out of the pump reservoir when it is unable to go out.
First, the water should not come out of the pump. There is a safety switch that should be wired to the furnace to shut the furnace off if the pump is full and not draining.
That said, I do not think we can help you much from here. You will have to figure out why it might be freezing. I would think it has to be holding some water in the line somewhere. Normally I would think that the water draining would melt and flush any ice that forms between cycles and keep it clear.
What "hole" is icing over? The very end of the hose? That sounds like the hose may have a long run outside so the water is cold by the time it gets to there. That might be a problem.
Maybe you could install a larger diameter hose or pipe on the end of the hose that would be less likely to freeze.
Then there is always heat tape for pipe you could use to keep it warm.
