i just bought some 1157 signal lights. the problem with the new bulbs are the contacts at the bottow are?
really flat and not making much contact as its suppose to. my Q is if i can solder on the bottom so i can make the metal thicker and i can have perfect contact so the lights work. if not what can be my solution??? thank you.
the bulb is correct..but the contacts on the bottom are not thick enough they are really flat..and thats wut is giving the poor contact and not lighting up right..
Been there, done that.
Yes you could carefully add a bit of solder to the contacts then file down a bit if needed.
Another way is to, with the power off, try to bend up the contacts in the socket a little bit.
Be sure the bayonet pins are seating properly so that the lamp is in correct position.
Sometimes the socket gets distorted and the lamp is not level.
