Are the 8500K COOL BLUE Eurodezign bulbs legal in Ontario?
I'm thinking of replacing the headlights on my Mazda 3 Hatch with 8500K Cool Blue Eurodezign bulbs, but I was wondering if they were legal in Ontario. It has a bluish colour to it. Does anyone know? I don't want to get it installed, only to be pulled over by the cops.

Usable light diminishes as the colour temperature goes up. You go from white, to less usable light at blue, then to a lot less at purple, and eventually you would hit black light.
A 5,000k light is about 3,200 lumens, and at 8,000k, that has dropped off to 2,550, and at 10,000k it is 2,200, so, at a guess, 8,500k would be about 2,500 lumens. Your present headlamps are possibly 4,300 k. Your car would look cooler, but on the highway at night would be dangerously under-lit.
Those bulbs are not HID, they are simply halogen-xenon bulbs. If you buy a 5.000k halogen-xenon bulb you will be legal, and will have a slight improvement in usable light from the straight halogen bulb. That is what I did.
