What kind of resistor i can use to keep a steady 12v voltage?
hey I'm planning to fix LED bulbs to my Scooter. as per the Scooter electrical system though it's provide 12v when travel higher speed it'll create a 15v to 16v voltage. so i need to know what kind of resistor i can use to keep steady voltage of 12v so the led bulbs will be safe even in a higher voltage like 15v or 16v.
A resistor will not keep a steady voltage, as the voltage changes up and down so to will the voltage drop across the resistor. To kep a steady voltage you use a regulator which adjusts its resistance accordingly based upon the voltage applied to it.
You can use a 7812 IC available at radio shack
