What is the difference between s13 and s14?
O.K. this might be a stupid question? I have a 91 Nissan 240sx that I'm looking at buying parts for it. I'm seeing a lot of s13's and s14's and just wondering what is the difference between the two, so I buy the right parts for it?
the difference is the body style, s13s came in a hatchback, coupe, and a convertible. The 89-90 models(not just 1989 as stated before) are called pignoses because of their front bumper. These have a single cam motor KA24 motor in them. The 91-94 models had an updated bumper and changed to a dual cam KA24 for something like 10bhp more.
S14s went from 1995-1998, 1995's were the last year that had OBDI. 95-96 were the zenkis, they had rounder, less aggressive headlights. 97-98 are the koukis, they had a more aggressive front, different tail lights, and side skirts.
Also, there is actually quite a bit that can be swapped between both. The suspension components are pretty different and you won't find much that will fit there, but any of the motor components will interchange between Dual cam s13s, and s14(actually the cams were a bit better in s13s so a lot of s14 guys get s13 cams as a mild upgrade.
