PUTCO H9 bulb problem - explanation please?
Purchased a set of PUTCO high intensity white H9 bulbs for the high beams on my car. The candlepower is phenomenal but the light sprays everywhere but down the road. The stock bulbs throw a beam further down the road that these new bulbs do. We even had the lamps re-aimed and there was no improvement whatsoever. What is wrong here. The supplier is reluctant to take them back because they are an electrical part.
We had the same problem with halogen prefocused lights in our house.
Measure the distance from the base to the filament on the original bulbs and the putco bulbs. I'll almost guarantee that the distances are not equal and that is what's causing the problem. If you can prove this the supplier should be willing to take the bulbs back. We were able to return ours for a full credit.
